Project Description:

Fire Design of Prefabricated and Modular Buildings The project focuses on the fire design aspects of prefabricated and modular buildings, which are gaining popularity for their advantages over traditional construction. While traditional wood-frame construction has proven efficient in limiting fire spread, the unique challenges posed by prefabrication require a thorough understanding of design principles, construction schemes, and identification of potential risks. The project is part of the Next Generation Wood Construction initiative led by the University of Alberta and financially supported by NSERC, industry partners, and government agencies.
