CWCRN and its initiative, Next-Gen Wood Construction is making significant strides in reshaping the future of construction with its focus on mass timber buildings. Through active collaboration with the Canadian wood industry, universities, government agencies, and the construction sector, the initiative aims to develop cutting-edge materials, technologies, and guidelines to enable the construction of mass timber buildings of up to 20 storeys by 2028. This ambitious endeavor has garnered widespread attention as it pushes the boundaries of construction possibilities and seeks to revolutionize building standards, all while contributing to Canada’s carbon emissions goals.
