About Dr. Chen:

Dr.Yuxiang Chen, the Nasseri-UAER Chair in Resource-Efficient Buildings for ColdClimates is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Engineering, specializingin Civil and Environmental Engineering. Holding a Ph.D. in Building Engineeringfrom Concordia University, Dr. Chen’s research focuses on high-performancebuildings, with expertise in net-zero energy, modular design, prefabrication,and the integration of renewable energy. Leading a dedicated team, he activelyengages in projects such as building-integrated thermal energy storage,intelligent design of masonry buildings and energy-efficient communitygreenhouses tailored for cold-climate regions. His expertise extends toadvanced thermal modelling, hybrid heating systems, and integrated design forroom conditioning, daylighting, and electric lighting
